The LinkedIn Analytics dashboards is the place to analyze everything about your Page and Updates, including presence Reach/Impressions, Update engagements, and video views. Rival IQ makes it easy to report on any number and provides intuitive insights about your data.

Getting Started

If you have not already connected to LinkedIn Analytics, start by connecting a LinkedIn page that you are an admin or analyst for. Once they're connected use the "Edit Connected Pages" screen to map the LinkedIn page to the respective Rival IQ company. We ask you to do this to show you the right set of LinkedIn pages in their respective landscapes. Besides the page name, LinkedIn doesn't tell us any additional identifiers to help us map your page to a Rival IQ company.

We'll import your latest Page and Updates data - it should take no more than 5 minutes!

Page Tab

The Page tab displays everything that happened for your Page during the selected time period, including follower growth and unique page views. Each panel includes an info bubble to help you understand exactly what data is presented.

Followers and Page Views panels

The Followers panel summarizes the net paid and organic followers change in the time period. It also displays a daily chart of your follower count and net growth.

The Page Views panel summarizes the number of times and unique number of people who visited your Page.

Follower Locations and Demographics panels

The Follower Locations and Demographics panels summarize the top countries, regions, industries, and job functions of your LinkedIn Page followers. You can click on any of these charts to view more info and specific numbers.

Presence Update Impressions, Reach, and Engagements panels

The Presence Update panels summarize the impressions, reach, and engagements on Updates during the selected time period, regardless of when the update was published.

Updates Tab

The Update tab displays an analysis on all your updates published during the selected time period. We further break down update data to help you find insights into how to improve your content (ex. hashtag, popular topics, post types).

Setting up your timezone

Use the timezone picker to align updates according to your timezone. This timezone can be customized per landscape, and only applies to your private data. At this time, public data in Rival IQ is reported in UTC time.

At a Glance panel

The At a Glance panel displays your overall posting activity and engagement on updates published during the selected time period.

Engagement Rate by Impression measures your engagement (likes, comments, shares, clicks) per impression.

Posts panel

The Posts panel displays the updates published during the time period, sorted by total engagement. Click the “View More” button to view more updates on screen. Use the layout and sort drop downs to customize your view of the data.

Click on an update to view more information about it.

Activity & Impressions panel

The Activity & Impressions panel allows you to compare your post activity trends with the total impressions you received. This helps you analyze any spikes or decreases during particular times. Use the “Grouped by” dropdown to organize this data by day, week, or month to easily find trends.

Hashtags panel

The Hashtags panel summarizes the most commonly used hashtags in your updates. Use this to compare hashtags you frequently use against hashtags that receive more impressions or engagements. Click on a row to view the updates using that hashtag, and click “View More” to see more hashtags or customize the columns in this table.

The Popular Topics panel summarizes the common phrases Rival IQ found in your updates using natural language processing. Use this table to spot usage and engagement patterns.

Post Tags panel

The Post Tags panel displays post tags that exist in your current set of updates. Use the "Manage Columns..." button to customize the metrics you would like to analyze for your tags.

Tag any post using the "Add tag" button to categorize it. If you'd like to learn how to get started with Post Tags, take a look at our help article.

Post Type panel

The Post Type panel summarizes the post types you most frequently use, and the impressions and engagement you receive on each type. Use the "Manage Columns..." button to add more metric columns. When we find interesting insights we'll display them on the right side of the panel.

Post Time panel

The Post Time panel compares your post times to when impressions were received. Note that this is different from the panel in Social Posts that compares post time to engagement rate.

Searching and filtering updates

Use the search bar at the top of the page to filter to updates based on keywords or hashtags. For example, if you want to find updates that mention another account, you can search using @*. Click here for more search tips and tricks.

Use the Post Tags dropdown to filter to updates based on the tags you've applied.
