Tumblr will be discontinuing their data feed industry wide over the months of December 2023 and January 2024. This will affect your access to Tumblr data in the Instant Search and Saved Search listening features in Rival IQ.
Why Tumblr Data is Being Discontinued
At the end of November 2023, Tumblr notified all customers who access their data feed to inform them that they are discontinuing the Tumblr data feed industry wide. They provided specific dates for discontinuing the data feed and guidance for removing historical Tumblr data:
No new Tumbler data will be available after December 31, 2023
To comply with Tumblr’s guidance, we must remove historical Tumblr data and all Tumblr-specific features (such as the Tumblr option in the Sources filter) by the end of January 2024
How this Impacts You
This change means that:
Tumblr will no longer appear in Listening results after Jan. 18, 2024.
Instant and Saved Searches viewed between December 31, 2023 and January 18, 2024 with Tumblr included as a source will include no new Tumblr data.
Between December 31, 2023 and January 18, 2024 Instant and Saved Searches with Tumblr included as a source may see overall data volumes will decrease depending on how much Tumblr posts were included in that search.
