Frequently Asked Questions

Can I import post tags from other apps?

Most applications don't share Post Tags you've created, so Rival IQ doesn't have access to external tags. You can tag posts once it's in Rival IQ. You can also use Auto-Tag Rules to simplify this process.

What do those checkboxes mean?

In the screenshot below, I've selected a handful of posts and want to apply the new Has Face tag to them. The "mixed state" checkbox for Anti-Wrinkle, Eye Cream, and Mask means that the tag is on some but not all selected posts. The tag Not Regram applies to all of the posts I selected. I've selected Has Face, so clicking apply will add that tag to my currently selected posts.

TIPS

TIP #1 - The Post Tags filter is also available under the Social Posts and Posted URLs tables.

Using the filter to only the Post Tag "Mask", I can analyze only posts in this tag in more detail. For example, what hashtags do these posts have in common?

TIP #2 - To exclude or include Post Tags shown on posts, use the Show/Hide toggle

TIP #3 - A great question to analyze with Post Tagging is, "is it better if I post about X or not?".

In this example, I'll compare whether regramming helps engagement by comparing posts that use #regram vs posts that don't.

First, I'll create a Keyword-Based Auto-Tag for #regram OR regram:

Then, search for posts without #regram and tag them.

Next, exit the Post Tag Manager to analyze these two tags. I can use the Post Tags dropdown to filter my view to just the two tags I'm comparing.

And here's my analysis, which shows me that the 6 posts with #regram did 4.12 times better than the posts without the hashtag.
